Quick Maple-Style Syrup
By Chef George
Ingredients
• 1 cup granulated sugar (or light brown sugar)
• 1 cup water
• 1–2 tsp maple extract, to taste
• 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
• Pinch fine salt

Method
1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan.
2. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring until dissolved.
3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3–5 minutes for a light body.
4. Remove from heat; stir in maple extract, vanilla, and salt.
5. Cool slightly before use; syrup thickens as it rests.
Chef George Notes
• Brown sugar yields a darker, richer profile.
• Flavor additions are always added off heat.
• This syrup is designed as a pourable drizzle.
Variation A – Barrel Smoke Bourbon-Maple Drizzle
Add 2–3 Tbsp bourbon off heat. Optional: ½ tsp vanilla bean paste. Rest 10 minutes before bottling. Warm oak,
caramel, smooth maple finish.
Variation B – Spiced Hot-Sauce-Friendly Maple Drizzle
Simmer with ¼ tsp chili flakes or ancho powder and a pinch of cinnamon. Finish off heat with 1–2 tsp vinegar-based hot
sauce for balanced sweet heat.
